30 Days into Aim Training: Silver to Platinum Complete!

Happy to share my progression so far! I was tired of chat making fun of my aim, and I genuinely wanted to improve, so I started aim training.

Given that I have to manage multiple IRL responsibilities, I can only do 45 min per day on average. So I divided VDIM and do only part of it every day. And I usually split that chunk into 2 or even 3 parts done at different times in one day, which is really helpful in completing runs allocated for each day.

Images 1 and 3 are VT S5 and Viscose Intermediate now. Image 2 is VT S4, done on the first day of the aim training, but only 1 run each so not really representative. I think I started from Gold incomplete.

I have ~4000 hours of play time in FPS games, mostly Apex Legends (~2000h), Overwatch (~1000h), and some CS2 and The Finals (~400h respectively). So I'm quite content with this improvement speed, well except for static clicking.

Starting from last week, I added 10 runs of 1w3ts and its variants per day, 5 days a week, but the improvement is still subtle. It could be related to the gear I use: Skypad, GPW Superlight 2, and a sports sleeve to reduce friction of my arm and wrist.

I also recorded my platinum run on 1w3ts:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA2makLyI5I. Forget that ending; I was super excited so I made that ending. From this VOD, I think my issue lies mainly in inconsistency; in all 3 movements, my flick speed, adjustment accuracy, and visual confirmation time are all unstable. Will playing more fix that?

Vertical tracking is also an issue for me, especially bouncing movement. And it is also interesting that KovaaK's is my most played FPS game in the past 2 weeks; the time allocation for KovaaK's and other FPS games is like 50/50.

Also would like to share 2 things that I did which gave me an instant performance boost:

  1. Changing mouse skates! Mine hadn't been changed for over a year. I realized this and replaced them on the 15th day of training, which immediately pushed my tracking and switching scores to Platinum, with even a single Diamond run.

  2. Using a sports sleeve. I tried Wallhack's and Pulsar's, but neither felt right. I just picked up a random sports sleeve and it works like a charm. It’s a huge improvement, especially for vertical movements and large horizontal flicks.
