I swear trying to play actual football without abuse in this division is like fighting barehanded against someone who has bricks attached to their hands, and it's all EA's fault.

You can't joystick dribble against jockey because they implemented an assist that makes the player magically keep his distance....You can't joystick dribble against autoplay because the AI reads everything you do. That just kills the fun out of h2h.

The only thing I can do is pace abuse, that's it.

Whenever I hear someone talking about a team playing possession football, they say "They're playing Tiki Taka", but I think they're slightly different. Possession football afaik is passing the ball around keeping hold of it and looking for gaps. Tiki Taka afaik is a higher tempo form of possession football, mainly using one touch and playing one twos and constantly forming triangles. Are Man City for example playing "Tiki Taka"?

Whenever I play a casual game (usually just pick-up), I can dribble, hold the ball, make use of 100% of my abilities comfortably.

In a competitive game however, I always find myself rushing. I don't dribble, and even if I try, I tense up, then lose the ball either from a misplaced pass, or taking too long to make a decision. There are moments when I randomly find myself comfortable and play like I usually do, but most of the time my play gets messy and I get yelled at which makes things a whole lot worse.

How do I play more efficiently in tense matches?
