My favorite in-person jade shop restocked this past weekend. I’d gotten the heads up so I got to try on and pick my very favorite from a whole batch of new rings. It’s gorgeous! I took pictures in shade, sunlight, and indoor lighting (is it florescent? They’re energy-efficient bulbs.)

I don’t know if it’s considered “floating flower” but it is in my heart. The layers of green and the translucency are just a delight to look at.

Aside from sharing eye candy, I thought others would benefit from seeing the same piece of jade in these unedited, unfiltered photos in a couple of different lighting scenarios.

I honestly can’t take pictures that do this ring justice. I’ve been looking for rich, honey-golden translucent yellow jadeite for a long time now and I finally settled on this beautiful ring from UltimateJadeite on etsy.

My review of the shop: It was an ideal experience. 5/5 stars. The seller Nandar sent me a lot of pictures (even more than I asked for), answered all my questions, and shipped VERY quickly. The packaging was secure and thoughtful.

Also, the gold work is exceptional. At my budget, I’m resigned to the fact that most of my rings have somewhat sloppy prong-work, meaning they catch on fibers and hair. This is “bad” because eventually the prongs will loosen and risk the stone falling out. (Also, annoyingly, it damages my clothing.) Nandar told me their in-house goldsmith made it, which I believe because the stone fit the setting so perfectly.
