Ethanol in biodiesel

I heard that I can use ethanol to make biodiesel instead of methanol. Does anyone know how effective it is for transesterification? And what's the reference amount of ethanol for 1 liter of used oil? I'm in Brazil, and here the sale of methanol is very controlled.

products for creating blended biodiesel

I need help from biodiesel experts. I'm from Brazil and I want to start a project to create biodiesel from used oil to power a small washing machine motor. From what I know, I can use methanol and ethanol for the reaction, but in Brazil the use of methanol is very restricted and controlled. So I'd like to know if I can use regular ethanol, and if possible, could someone with knowledge give me the references for one liter of used oil – how much ethanol and how much caustic soda?
