whats one moment you wish you could go back and experience again just yo remember it better?
we dont realize in a memory until its already over
we dont realize in a memory until its already over

something about that just stayed in my head
anyone else have a moment like this with their parents?

At some point you realize your parents are just people who were figuring things out too thats why i started asking more intentional questions and it changed how i see them completely
To make it easier for those who are interested i found this of question online and wanna share it here
You can check it here:

Curious what’s something your parents told you that stayed with you
Not big dramas but just simple things that dont came up always like talking about what shaped someone or talking about things that dont usually get said out loud
Those usually the ones that stay with you.
I found a list of questions online and tried asking my dad one simple thing “what do u know now about life that u wish someone had sat u down and told you at twenty?” it opened up a longer conversation about regrets, stress, and hopes.
If your dad answered honestly, what’s one thing you will ask him?
I always thought i knew my parents pretty well turns out… not really. I found this question guide on Overbiscuits Application and decided to try a few during a normal conversation
I asked things like:
- What's the biggest misunderstanding people have about the era you grew up in?
- Was there a moment that split your life into "before" and "after"?
- If you could make sure your grandchildren knew one thing about what life was really like for you, what would it be?
Some of their answers were light while some were heavier than i expected there were evrn moments where they had completely different answers to the same question it didn’t feel like an interview but mere of just a conversation that went deeper than usual it made me realize there’s probably still a lot i don’t know about them
If you could ask your parents anything and get a completely honest answer, what would it be?
I asked him what he regrets not doing when he was younger i didn’t expect much but he actually thought about it and said he wished he took more risks. We ended up talking for a while after that it made me realize i don’t really ask him stuff like that.
What’s a question that led to a deeper convo for you?
You know those meals where everyone’s just quiet or on their phones? Been trying to avoid that lately
What’s a question you can ask that usually gets people to open up or at least makes things less awkward?
Not small talk stuff but like a real question. Something a bit deeper or even a little uncomfortable i feel like a lot of relationships just run on routine conversations. Curious what people would actually ask if they didn’t overthink it
I started writing down one small lesson i learn each day. Nothing deep, just simple reminders. It actually helps more than i expected i got the idea after seeing people share similar short reflections online
Feels like a small step, but a good one
today i realized that some of the best parts of the day are the smallest ones a stranger smiling, a good snack, a quiet moment i noticed this while reading short personal stories people shared online earlier its funny how simple things can change your mood :)
