Asbestos found under carpets
Regarding a newly purchased property built around 1930s in SE England. We got a simple asbestos survey and the surveyor looked at a couple of areas under the carpet. Two of the areas under the carpet/underlay had some vinyl which was sampled and tested. It came back positive for Chrysotile. The report said no removal or remediation is needed, and marked it as low risk.
We want to remove the carpets and put down laminate. Looking to hire some flooring fitters. We're worried about disturbing the asbestos during these works.
Did any one have this issue? If so, were your flooring fitters okay to do the job? What cautions should we take?
