Hi guys. So today, the Constitutional Council is appointing a new Chief Justice. The tenure of a Chief Justice in Nepal is 6 years. Chief justice appointment is a strong step for any judicial system especially in Nepal. Many users are suggesting Til Prasad Shrestha, but I guess he won’t be because he has only one year left until his retirement. Also, Sapana Pradhan Malla who is current acting chief justice. She has only 2 years left. One thing to remember, She was also a Constituent Assembly member from CPN-UML.
Meanwhile, Hari Phuyal was previously the Attorney General and was appointed by KP Oli. He is considered to be very close to CPN-UML.
So I guess the appointment will most likely be between Nakhul Subedi and Manoj Kumar Sharma or they can go with Sapana Pradhan Malla either way. Whom do you think is the best option among them ??
New Road in front of Durbar Square is one of Kathmandu’s biggest missed urban planning opportunities. A commercial strip blocking a historic masterpiece. Imagine a wide, pedestrian boulevard framing the Durbar square instead.
The Malla kings established an incredible architectural and cultural foundation. Later Shah rulers had an opportunity to expand that vision potentially creating a larger, cohesive plaza with additional monuments in the same architectural style. But most Shahs were focused only into woman and mistresses instead of planning the city.
The fact that the last accidental Shah king himself was involved in "murti" theft itself shows a missed opportunity. One of the reason why Kathmandu looks so unplanned at present day can be attributed to lackluster attitude of Shah kings who resided in Kathmandu.
The government is planning to introduce an open competition system to select ambassadors for the first time, with reported approval from Prime Minister Balen Shah.
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has stated that certain ambassadorial positions will be filled through a transparent selection process, though the exact procedures and schedule are still being worked out.
This initiative is intended to increase transparency in diplomatic appointments, which have traditionally been shared between career diplomats and politically appointed candidates.
The District Administration Office in Kathmandu has started delivering passports through postal services after a Cabinet decision, making the process more convenient for citizens.
Home delivery has also begun in 14 districts across Nepal, with around 319 passports already delivered. The service is expected to expand to more districts soon.
An agreement with the General Post Office allows passports to be sent directly to homes, and applicants can choose between home delivery or office pickup when applying.

• Location: Saraswati Campus
•Individual identified in video: Nithin Jaishi
•Incident shown: Verbal abuse and a direct violent threat made against a student inside campus premises
•Based on publicly available information and his own Facebook profile:
He is seen in multiple posts alongside FSU members of ASCOL and ANFSU-linked circles
His listed academic background appears to be from another engineering institution, not Saraswati Campus or ASCOL
• Student concerns being widely discussed:
Questions regarding how hostel access/privileges are being granted at ASCOL
Allegations that non-enrolled individuals may be present within hostel premises
Presence of individuals linked with student political groups in multiple protest and campus-related events
This raises a broader question among students:
Are these affiliations and access to resources being misused in ways that contribute to intimidation or violence inside campuses?
These points are based on publicly visible social media content and ongoing student discussions, while the video clearly documents a serious threat inside campus premises.
