Can track saws be used to cut straight lines on curved surfaces?

I'm (trying) making a canoe hull from wood (sealed in fiberglass, the source of all human problems) and need to trim the excess material from the edge of the hull. Its about 1ft too long right now and the cut is on a curved hull.

I was thinking of buying a track saw and drilling and bolting the track to the hull material so it will conform to the natural curve of the boats edge. Is this going to end bad trying to guide the saw on a curved track? I am worried the track saw grooves will "bind up" from being bent, or just not cut straight.

I calculated the smallest radius I will need to bend around is ~ 5ft. Everything else is mostly straight.

Anyone ever try to use track saw on a bend?

Thinking maybe skateboard ramp builders? other boat builders?

Edit: "curved track" meaning 'cut the equator around earth' direction of curve. Not trying to curve the track in a "2D" / in-plane circle.
