GE front load washer not fully spinning in Normal mode…

Saw a similar post on her so figured I’d give this a shot. I live in a small area and the only appliance repair available I can’t even see an appointment yet. This is a GE GFW650SSN0WW purchased brand new in late 2020. All has worked well since. A few weeks back we started having our loads still soaking wet after a normal load wash. It’s draining fine, I’ve already cleaned out the drain plug area, and there’s no excess water left in the bin aside from the soaked clothes.

I then decided to give the smart app a try, connected both the washer and dryer to it and updated the firmware, all of this hoping it would magically tell me an error. Well that didn’t happen. During further research I discovered the diagnostic mode, and went through all of the troubleshooting steps with it and finished with a normal reset of the washer, both with unplugging and by holding the appropriate button while plugged in.

The diagnostic spin got up to full speed so no issues with the motor. Everything drained fine, and all other tests I did completed without fail. Washing a load in another mode, such as Towels has spun and drained just fine. But when washing in normal, it’s been about a 25% success rate that it will spin the load properly and we don’t have to do an extra spin cycle. I’m at a loss on what else to try except keep doing loads on a mode that works and adjust as needed, until I can schedule a repairman to come out and do something stupid easy for a high price.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
