Philosophical question and existential questions about living and enlightening

Hi, I shared this while commenting on another post prior but I 'd like to also invite u/everyone u/members here:

'Rather than a formal lecture, this will be an open conversation. We can explore questions around Buddhist philosophy, compassion, meditation practice, our rapidly changing world, the teachings of the Buddha, the Dalai Lama’s vision, and whatever else naturally emerges through our shared curiosity.

One of the beautiful things about Substack is the possibility of direct connection. In a time when so much communication feels fragmented and hurried, I hope these gatherings can become a space for deeper reflection, humor, humanity, and meaningful exchange.... (Bob)'

Please throw all your questions to Bob Thurman this Wednesday, May 13 (Wednesday tomorrow) to his LIVE Q & A, NY (ET) 12 noon. Bob lives in update NY.

First post for 2026 here, folks! This book I started a month ago is a beast – over 940 pages, written by Robert A.F. Thurman (professor emeritus) and Annie Bien so, I am not half way yet. These two authors are legends in their field, so the depth of research is quite profound.

Not a light read – appeals to those who ...

•You crave historical novels that weave fact and drama seamlessly.

•You're fascinated by exotic cultures, lands, and period settings.

•Forbidden love stories make your heart race.

•You appreciate subtle, deadly political intrigues.

•You view the world through a spiritual, multidimensional lens.

•Psychological thrillers shaping environment and character.

The book is 'Magical Adventures of the 6th Dalai Lama – His Life and Loves'. It's a Tibet House US (NYC) publication, launched October 2025. Do a Search in THUS.org

I doubt anyone else here have learned about this niche novel – anyone?
What are your thoughts on historical novels with a spiritual twist?

Vairochana Rinpoche (Ngawang Jigme Jigten Wangchuck) became a monk at two, and by eight was already delivering public discourses. At twelve, he holds an honorary doctorate from Thailand's Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University and is recognized as a lineage holder bridging the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions.
