Surround Sound for Bravia 8

I recently bought a Bravia 8 65" to replace the 65" Vizio I had.

The Vizio had a connected surround sound system with a sound bar under the tv and then a sub at the back of the room behind couches on the ground and two small speakers at the back of the room at ceiling level behind the couches. It made for a really good system to fully immerse you in the sound.

When I mounted the Bravia and connected the Vizio sound system to it, I immediately realized that the rear speakers weren't working and that the TV sounded much better than the Vizio sound bar, so I've disconnected the sound system and just have the tv itself, which sounds great especially with the native acoustic surface tech....but I miss having sound behind me like I did with the Vizio surround sound system.

Can anyone help me understand the best way to optimize a surround sound system for this tv? I'd like to be able to take advantage of the TV's acoustic capabilities, but add back in speakers behind me to get surround.

I'd prefer not to spend more than the tv itself, but also want to understand the best way to go about this.

Appreciate any help in advance, thanks
