Daughter and I just watched the first episode for the first time

I'd seen a few bits and pieces over the years, my daughter had never seen any of it, we thought we'd give it a try. The first ten minutes kinda dragged, Basil was just kind of vaguely annoying and his aspiration to attract a better class of customers seemed like just normal business. But then it just kept building and building, somehow when it repeated the same jokes over and over it got funnier every time. My daughter expressed a strong dislike for Basil when we were done so I said OK, we'll watch something else tomorrow. She paused and said well, actually, she would like to watch some more episodes.

It seems to me that most of the things that are taught in school aren't going to be very helpful to today's young people, but there are a lot of things that we kind of picked up by osmosis that should be formally taught now, since technology has taken away the need to learn them on their own.
