Should I be worried about my A1C going from 5.5 to 5.6 over 3 years?

Hey everyone,

I’m 33 years old and generally healthy. About 3 years ago, my HbA1c was 5.5%, and I just tested again recently and it’s now 5.6%.

I’ve been pretty consistent with a healthy lifestyle — decent diet, not much sugar, and I stay active. I also go to bed early, but my sleep has been kind of fragmented for years (I wake up during the night quite a bit).

The change in A1C seems really small, but I’m not sure if this is something I should pay attention to or just normal fluctuation.

Is this kind of increase over a few years something to worry about? And could long-term poor/fragmented sleep have any impact on this?

Would really appreciate any insights 🙏

Waking up at 3AM + intense dreams

Hey everyone,

I could really use some advice based on Andrew Huberman protocols or anything science-based.

My situation:

I fall asleep easily around 10 PM

I wake up and get sunlight exposure in the morning

I exercise regularly

ano screen light 1 to 2 hour before sleep

So overall, I feel like I’m doing most things “right.”

The problem:

I keep waking up around 3 AM, and after that my sleep becomes fragmented.

But the main issue is my dreams — they are extremely vivid and detailed, to the point where I wake up feeling like my brain didn’t rest at all.

It honestly feels like I’ve been mentally active all night.

What I’ve tried:

Magnesium

GABA supplements

But the intense dreaming is still there.

What I’m looking for:

Ways to reduce dream intensity / overactive REM?

Any Huberman-style protocols that specifically address this?

Could this be related to stress, cortisol timing, or something else?

Would really appreciate any insights
