Is it common that Russian users have trouble paying through Apple?

I have an app targeting global markets — for long Russia has been one of my top markets for downloads, yet the paid conversion rate is very low(<1%). I didn’t take it seriously until recently a Russian user reached out asking if they could pay without an Apple ID. I started to think that maybe they have common issue paying through Apple these days🤔.

I asked AI and it says it might be true due to US sanctions, but I still don’t have a clear picture. Does anyone know more about this? And if it’s true how do you cope with it?

I built an app to see what my cat is thinking in his little head

Context

The idea came from staring at my cat's face every day and wondering what's going on in there. Probably nothing — they barely change their expression 😂. Probably everything — they can be surprisingly smart and emotional ❤️.

Therefore I built this app. It captures a series of images of your pet and analyzes their expression and body language, then generates a little thought bubble of what they might be saying. Some of them are hilariously accurate, some are completely unhinged — I find both worth keeping as memories or sharing with friends. The thoughts are also spoken aloud in a fun voice, which makes it way more entertaining than I expected.

Tech Stack

The app is a native iOS app built using SwiftUI.

I use firebase as backend for authentication, database and cloud function, etc.

I use google gemini to analyze pet images, generate thought and TTS.

Development Challenge

One of the biggest challenge was to design the use flow to make the experience engaging and fun. There are existing apps that simply ask user to upload a pet photo and generate some meme, while I decided to make it a real-time camera and display the result as a short video clip with voice.

AI Disclosure

I built this app together with AI coding assistant.

Pricing

Each user gets 3 free credits to try. Then they could purchase:

* Monthly Subscription: 2.99$, 100 credits/month
* 10 credits: 0.99$
* 50 credits: 2.99$
* 200 credits: 9.99$

Would love to hear from anyone — whether you find it interesting or completely useless. Open to any feedback. Right now the app only supports cats and dogs, but happy to add more animals if there's interest.

I have issues with posts being removed by reddit filters. Therefore I want to check if it is related to my CQS score. However, I couldn't even post on r/WhatIsMyCQS. It kept displaying "There was an error. Please try again later." when I tap the post button. Why?
