Emeritus of Woe is a trap.
Right now Emeritus of Woe is the most expensive card in Secrets of Strixhaven (excluding mystical archive.) Do I think the card is good? Yes. Do I think it warrants the $33 price tag? No, and I want to break down why-
6 total mana is needed to cast her and tutor.
To tutor again you will need to have her to survive 2 additional turn cycles.
The first turn cycle you will need two other creatures to die, which isn't hard to do, but is situational. That does require setup. Are we expecting to sac 2 creatures every single turn? I mean, it's very possible but again, situational.
There's just an abundance of better tutors for a sacrifice deck- Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Intent, Vampiric tutor, Hoarding Broodlord, etc.
I'm just confused by this price tag. It's a good card, but I don't believe it's CEDH good. It feels more like a casual card IMO and that's ok. Does that mean it will hold the $33 price long term? I personally would be offloading this asap.
