
Very disapointed in Bose. I only was notified by Bose last night, with an email "Rappel : L’assistance cloud pour SoundTouch s’arrête bientôt" - not even in my language nor the language I use in the app. No single notification or email before about this, I scanned all mailboxes. I never use the app as I always use the preset buttons, and/or control it via the Homey.
Hoping to switch soon to another app or.. just throw all Soundtouches out the door, only got them for a few years which makes it more sad. Very disappointed in how a company like Bose can simply brick hardware that works perfectly.
As an engineer, I don't understand why a feature like presets should rely on a cloud infra of a vendor. There is no single reason that can justify this. Sure sure.. we can Airplay, but that's not ideal, nor proper support for groups that are properly in sync. We have a unit in every room of the office.
Anyhow, lesson learned. Never a Bose again.
