Playing the Thomas chapters for the first time since I was a kid. Super charming and a fun way to flesh out some of the cast and get in some natural world building.

Does Suikoden 3 have the best and widest variety of character portraits?

Even as a kid I always loved playing the last chapter for Chris Lightfellow for our adventure to Alma Kinan and how traditional fantasy it felt. As an adult I appreciate it for just feeling nostalgic and cozy with the early PS2 3D aesthetic and tribal mystical OST in the background.

Replaying and also reading through the Suikoden 3 manga and I always appreciate how real and dark this fantasy game can become. It feels like it has more in common with Game of Thrones/ASOIAF than Final Fantasy.

Suikoden 3 is such a fun deconstruction of the Suikoden formula and I wish the other installments stayed as brutal and dipped their toes into dark fantasy.

After all these years I finally completed my collection of the full trilogy! Planning on going through the entire series this summer!

I’ve been dying to sit down with a giant sized PS2 JRPG this summer that wasn’t just dot hack games so this is perfect. I’ve only played a large chunk of Episode I and watched Pied Piper so there is still so much left for me to discover and experience!

Planning on doing a deep dive into the Xenosaga trilogy finally after all these years. Gearing up by making sure I’m prepared and have the strategy guides like it’s the early 2000s still.

I’ve played the Xenoblade trilogy and Xenogears and a few years ago I did play through a large chunk of Episode 1 and loved it. I’ll try to share my experiences as I slowly work my way through the games one by one.

Finally pulled the trigger and will finish my Xenosaga trilogy collection. Fingers crossed that after I buy this, they announce a full remaster collection. I will fall on that sword for this community gladly!

I doubt we are ever getting a remaster collection so that’s why I actually finally bought a copy. Just did the same with the dot hack series earlier this year too. PS2 is still the king of JRPGs.

I went in with low expectations but was blown away by the connections to the rest of the Xenosaga trilogy and how it made Ziggy go from a good character to now a great character in my eyes. I’ve only played Xenosaga Episode 1 so far and wanted more insight on the world before going back to 2 and 3.

Basically I played Episode 1 and liked it. Played Episode 2 but don't care for the new gameplay changes. I heard Episode 3 changes things again and is more like the original battle system. So should I just watch a Lets Play/movie recap of Episode 2 and just keep moving on with Episode 3?

I found Odessa to be extremely interesting for a group of cliche villains and I‘m shocked at how much depth they added to these characters while making them insanely memorable. They were a truly great foil to our own team of misfit adventurers and ”Mercs”
