Transfer while Failing Ht/It (lemme explain)
Hey, so I just wanted to ask and see if anyone has been in a similar situation. I'm a 29 year old male. Been in the Guard for almost 5 years. Been an 11C for the last 2. Looking to potentially move to my states band unit in the near future. Yes I recently failed Height and Weight, but, I never fail a PT Test. In fact on every test, I outscored nearly 2/3 of my company. Last AFT was 428/500. Recruiter for the band assures me as long as I'm losing weight I will be good for transfer. Regardless I've seen some BIG guys in my time. A few months back my unit retired a career SPC who was busting in his uniform. These guys never catch any flak, yet I see guys fail a few times who are clearly still in shape, and you would think they murdered one of the full timers dogs the way they get talked to.
Long story short, how worried should I be about my transfer going through even if technically I still cant meet the new weight standards. Worst comes to worst, I'm looking at moving to the Navy if band doesnt work out. Infantry Kool Aid didn't work on me and I need to do something else.
