Anyone got any beginner friendly tips? I'm a soulslike/souls veteran, I'm not looking for gameplay advice, rather for mechanics advice.

Maybe it's me having trouble reading, but the game isn't doing a great job explaining the mechanics to me. How does "mana"+dodge really work? Is it temporary? How do I level single stats? Or do I not do that in this particular game? Things like these.

I'm really enjoying it, it reminds me of a hybrid DarkSouls/Elden/Sekiro, so I wanna know how to master the unique mechanics.
