What is with the hate on AC shadows?
I’ve recently picked Shadows and I’m obsessed. It actually feels like I’m playing an Assassins creed game again. Movement is amazing, the world is beautiful, the combat is fun, story is alright, and the stealth is incredible.
Im constantly seeing people absolute crap on the game like it’s the worst in the series but I’m just struggling to believe it. In my experience with the recent AC’s, Mirage had decent stealth but shocking movement and combat, Valhalla, odyssey and origins just don’t feel like AC games at all. All have fun combat, decent stories (especially origins), but the movement and stealth are average at best. Shadows seems to be the closest we’ve been to Unity movement with some further polishes in certain areas, and some downgrades in other. Similar to Unity, I love how we can pick between pure 100% health or just an absolute tank charging the front gate.
In my opinion, the only thing I’m not 100% about in Shadows is the base building, the pacing (sometimes in a level 20 area, there’ll be a level 30 enemy), and the inability to climb or run through some of the dense vegetation areas, oh and the skill tree, that does kinda suck but I appreciate that I can reset perks and redistribute.
(Just for the further context, I’ve played all of them except for 1 for some reason, I’m just talking about the more recent AC’s from unity onwards)
