are we just bad at communication? liberal here tried of liberal talking points
in the US, "red" states tend to be the poorest, least educated, worst places to live. I have seen poverty in rural Mississippi that should make any American sick to their stomach. To me, and this is just my opinion so dont bother arguing, liberal policies tend to be better for everyone.
but we have shit messaging. i have friends that continue to push the world socliasm evev fater explaining in great detail the way that word affects people whose families went through the most dehumanizing awful dictatorships. They dont see,m to understand or care that certain messages just turn a lot of people off.
I know what Black Lives Matters means, but as a slogan and name of a movement, its too easily manipulated by disingenuous people on the right to sound unfair or even unamerican. Maybe its not as catchy, bu Black Lives Matter Too is the better message.
When we say a transwoman is a woman, I am all for the message, but even that is too easily interpreted to mean "this person who was born a man is now genetically a woman" which no one thinks. An argument that I myself have used with family who are not on my side of the politcal spectrum is this: if a person decides to live as a woman, and is not bothering anyone, they are free to do so because this is America. Thats a message i think a lot more Americans would be receptive to.
Are we just pushing these messages out of ego? Anger? Because theyre clearly not effective.
edit: Adding "defund the police" as another stupid slogan
dont be this asshole:
