Playing the games back to back is pure magic
Most people probably never got to do this, at least while experiencing one for the first time.
I played the first Lunar in college ons PS1 in 2003 or so. I remember thar I loved it and what stood out were the characters and the NPC interactions, but other then that remembered almost nothing of the game.
So I bought the remaster and played Silver Star and it was amazing. Unlocked some childhood memories and was just as great as I remember. I don’t mind that the voices are different as I don’t remember the originals and thought the new ones were great.
Anyway, I’m playing Eternal Blue for the first time now, immediately after, and loving it. If I waited years to play the second game, I would have forgot so much detail. It’s great to see the decents of characters like Ramus you just recently played with. Even parts of the game, which some would call recycled like the Meribia sewers are cool. I remember in the first game even if you were leveled up there right, you could be knocked out by non-boss common enemies if your not careful. Same thing in the second game
Maybe that was all TLDR but in summary, I’m thankful to have replayed the first and it was still magic and loving my first experience in the second game while it’s still fresh. Even if I played both on their release date in the 90’s for example, I don’t know if I would have been as fresh up on all the details of the first game vs. playing it now back to back.
