Can my car insurance update my no claims discount mid-policy, or am I going to lose my NCD?

Hi all, I’m not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this query, but it seemed like the best fit. I want to find out about my rights updating my NCD 3 months into my current insurance policy, or if there’s a chance I’m going to lose it.

Last October I was hit by another driver on a roundabout and they at first admitted liability, but then when they went back to work (they hit me whilst working as a Domino’s delivery driver) this changed and they tried to go through my insurance, saying it was my fault.
In February of this year, my insurance with Admiral was up for renewal and the investigation hadn’t been settled yet so I had to put that I had 0 No Claims Discount when applying for insurance. My insurance at the time put the rates up significantly so I moved provider to GoSkippy as it was the best I could get without my NCD, without getting a black box.
About 2 weeks ago (May) I got an update from Admiral, finding me not at fault and my no claims discount not being affected and they sent me a certificate for my 3 years NCD. I then promptly got in touch with GoSkippy, who have said they have saved this certificate on my file and that they will update this ‘when I renew with them’.
My question is, is there anything that would prevent them from adding this to my current policy whilst it’s still active? My concern is their wording implies that if I don’t renew with them then it won’t be updated and I therefore won’t have my previous NCD even if I don’t make any claims during the year. That seems unfair as I haven’t made any claims, and I have never automatically renewed as it always works out more expensive to do so.
I have tried to contact GoSkippy for clarification on this but they have stopped responding so I intend to call them, but I wanted to see if anyone had any advise before I do, so that I can understand what my rights are on this. Are they obligated to keep my NCD up to date, and (providing no claims are made during my year insuring with them), are there any regulations that prevent GoSkippy from withholding my NCD if I choose to not renew my insurance with them next year?
I’ve tried looking into this online and asking people I know, but it’s such a specific scenario that I’m struggling to get anywhere with this so any help would be appreciated!
