Lav mic advice please :)
Hi everyone. :)
I'm new to filming/audio and would really appreciate some advice, please. I'm shooting talking heads/interview style on a Sony A7iii, with the Sony 50mm prime. I also have a Zoom H4n Pro, if that's useful info. I think I can use it to record the audio with a lav mic attached?
There are a lot of options for all sorts of lav mics, and I'm finding it hard to find info on how these will work with the A7iii, what other gear I might need, how to set it up, etc.
My preferred method for capturing audio is to use a decent small lav mic, but I don't know which one is best to buy. I don't like the boxy wireless versions as they look intrusive worn on the body.
I wouldn't shoot with the Zoom in shot, though I don't mind a discreet lav mic visible on my lapel. I don't have a massive budget (about £100) and would like to keep the set up relatively simple (this is why I'm looking at lav mics, which seem like the simplest option?). I'm just struggling to understand how these mics connect to the camera. As I already have a Zoom, I thought I'd try to utilise that.
Hopefully that makes sense! Suggestions welcome. :) And thank you.
