So for the 0% 2023 gang… it’s been about 24-30 months of ownership… how are we all feeling?

I was in the market for a new car during the 2023 Fire sale, and wound up with a grey GT.

Since buying it my work commute has changed from 30 miles to 2 miles so I’m only a hair under 12K miles right now.

Pros

- Love the look, love driving it, love it’s pick up and love honestly everything about the BlueCruise, Ford even extended my BlueCruise to 2029 after following a link in this subreddit a few months back, so I don’t’ have to worry about that price.

- Love the Blue Cruise. LOVE IT. I don’t’ mind long highway trips as I can rest my arms and fiddle with the radio (yes I keep my eyes on the road, the car doesn’t yell at me).

- Love the giant screen and how great Apple CarPlay works. It occasionally hiccups and fucks around, but I don’t have major issues with it.

- Love driving by gas stations signs and looking what gas costs nowadays.

- LOve getting OTA updates to fix little things randomly and even recall things.

Cons

- Cannot road trip to our favorite destination (Vermont) as the infrastructure in the towns we visit sucks and we have to take the wife’s Tucson Hybrid ( 400 miles on less than 10 gallons isn’t bad). Some vacation spots are rough due to lack of charging stations and lack of level 3 chargers. The VT towns we visit all had Tesla destination chargers and the one Level 3 was only 2 stalls and 1 was broken.

- Road charging is too slow. I don’t like the 30+ minute waits to charge up on road trips. I’m jealous when I see other manufacturers slashing that in half… but I know the future is bright, but it’s one of the reasons I fear the resale value will keep dropping, no one wants to wait that long.

- Not a fan of the Ford dealership service departments in my area.

- I get infrequent errors when I do a lot of stop/go errands where I’ll get in and start it and it’ll give me the error where it won’t start the car as if the 12 V is dead. I have to wait a few minutes and do the four way flasher reset to get going again (the shop says my battery tests fine) ..

Overall I love this car, and I think I made the right choice, the vacation inconvenience sucks, but my wife got the hybrid (she’s WFH so her fill ups are few and far between anyway).

What about you guys?

PA has started charging $250, Road User Charge this year….

At first I was really really upset , because my car currently only travels about 6,000 miles per year. And if you figure in the gas tax I would be paying… I’m way overpaying.

However, in doing some quick math with gas vs my electric charge… the lack of oil changes, maintenance and everything else…

I’m still way the hell ahead.

As much as it sucks, I’m glad I’m still way ahead!

How much does your state charge?
