Day 6 , only 69 to go

The scale says that I'm down 7 lbs. I'm sure much of that is water, though with how much I'm drinking now, maybe only half of it is water weight.

Carnivore+OMAD+exercise are having the biggest effect on my body. My face definitely looks thinner. Just need that big old belly to start shrinking!

Good news?

I'm not sure I have sciatica. When I went to my Dr I told them I was having sciatica pain so that's what they treated me for(PT)

The therapist said it sounded odd for sciatica pain, but did as he's told and gave me a basic routine to do at home.

Last night I googled my symptoms and came up with Meralgia paresthitica. This is just nerve pain in the front of the thigh, which is what I have. Often caused by wearing a belt or tight clothing or being overweight. I don't wear a belt, but I'm definitely overweight.

I was wearing bike shorts yesterday that are very tight and had more pain last night than usual.

I decided to try a topical treatment by rubbing a mix of DMSO and lidocaine on my thigh and to my surprise I felt some relief.

Whether it was from the ointment or massaging it in is unclear, but I'm hoping that I've stumbled upon the beginning of the end.

Maybe coincidence that I started a challenge last week that has lead me to lose weight or maybe deep down I knew that would help.

Good morning day 5.

Searched for and found a 45 minute stretching video for beginners yesterday. To my surprise, A bunch of the comments were from people doing 75 hard.

There was only one stretch I couldn't do, but man, that's a workout!

Daily check in.

did you do it? Workouts, water, reading, picture?

Did you struggle with anything today?

It's day 3 for me. My weight went up two pounds. Its Sunday here and it's tempting to have a " rest day" but I started this and I will finish it.

My knees were hurting last night because I over did it on my afternoon bike ride. This mornings workout was 15 minutes of light free weights followed by a 20 minute walk and another 15 minutes of weights. This afternoons bike ride will be in easy gears and I will make sure to limit it to 45 minutes.

Bronze figurine found in Hawaii

Found on a beach in Hawaii, but definitely not Hawaiian. Almost looks like the feet were cut off or maybe never had them.

Daily check in. Day 2

Its 6:30 a.m. first workout of the day was a mix of weight lifting & yoga. Light weights and high reps.

Read too much😄. I lose track of all time when I'm reading.

Took the picture, but I'm going to post them all after the 75 days instead of every day.

Drank a good quarter of the gallon already. And I will probably go well over that. I'm in Hawaii and sweat all day.

I may start swimming again after my shoulder heals up from some minor surgery to remove skin cancer.

I got back on my bicycle for yesterday's workouts and it felt great.

Fasting energy is through the roof!

How are you all doing?

Ren merch

is it trademarked, copyrighted etc.?

I searched for a Sick Boi sticker/decal, but could only find them on other sites. Are they all just scammers?

There's none on Ren's merch

Day 1.

57 y/o male, 6',starting weight is 228.

Diet: I'm already zero carb carnivore, but have been eating too much cheese.

To challenge myself I'm taking up intermittent fasting with a One meal a day (omad) eating schedule. It's something I have done before and I like it.

Exercise will be All bicycle riding.

Currently reading TIHKAL.

I think time management will be the hardest part for me. Just telling myself that I don't have time for doom scrolling or watching YouTube videos should help.

It's crazy how fast my health declined in just one year of inactivity!

Sometimes fear is worse than fact. There's over 100,000 cases of Hantavirus each year worldwide, but the recent infection of a group of tourists on a small cruise ship has created a lot of buzz in the media.

Should we be worried about Hantavirus? Probably not any more than we should worry about the flu or common cold.

Wash your hands and as always, avoid crowds of people.

How on earth is bacon calculated?

I mostly prefer my bacon crispy, but that renders out A lot of the fat. Do you pour the fat out of the pan and onto your plate and eat it all as well?

When looking at the numbers on the package is that for everything including the rendered fat?

I've been looking into back up power for storm outages and something like jackery makes sense, but then I figured why not just have a small solar set-up that powers the appliances I'm worried about like fridge, chest freezer and water pump all the time?

They are in opposite ends of the house so I'm wondering if I need a separate panel and breakers for them or do I just run extension cords? I could move them all to one spot as well.

I'm not comfortable doing any wiring myself so something simple appeals to me.

I'm replacing some gate hardware and I thought this would be a good example of how old something can look in a short time.

How old do you think that rusty hinge is?

I live three miles inland from the ocean and I'm MOSTLY upwind from the volcano that produces sulfur gasses and we average 120 inches of rain a year. I replaced this hinge six years ago. No wonder there's so much iron in the ground.

So, it's usually around $3k a year for electricity here in Hawaii. We're also having more frequent power outages lately. The last one was a week long.

Would $20-30k get me enough for my needs? We don't seem to go over 21 kwh a day.

Are there any maintenance costs with solar to consider?

I would prefer to have the panels not on my roof, but about 100 feet away from the house.

Also, I'm not looking for being tied to the grid.

How many years do the panels and the rest last before needing to be replaced?

My apologies for asking so many questions.

I started with keto just to lose weight, but I didn't like all the counting carbs and tracking macros.

Went from 270+ to 215, no more chronic IBS or chronic pain, no more high blood pressure or high triglycerides.

It's been five years. I can tolerate some vegetables like Kim chi or dill pickles. Even avocado when they're in season.

I never gave up black coffee and never will.

The definition of carnivore doesn't seem to be just meat and water for me. I started out with Dr Berry who was saying he still ate occasional veg like asparagus etc.

I think the greatest benefit for me was overcoming the carb/sugar addiction. I admit that I still overeat and could definitely stand to lose more weight and when I'm able to exercise more often and intensely I can get lean, but as I get older and the injuries rack up its getting harder.
