Home run!
Finally, in my 19th year of men’s softball, I hit one out of the park! Did it take anyone else this long? And did you start hitting them consistently or should I expect it to never happen again?

I played a game last night and I took a pitch I thought to be too low (illegal) and when the ump called it a strike, I stepped out of the box to show my frustration. I took a deep breath and took a second to gather myself. The umpire told the pitcher to pitch before I got back into the box. He didn't pitch it because "he likes me" but did mention the next time we crossed paths that it is legal for him to pitch before I get back in the box if I haven't called time. I've been playing in this league for almost 20 years and this is the first time I've ever heard this rule. Are the umpire and pitcher wrong, or do I need to call time to step out of the box? I tried to look through the ASA/USA Rulebook but couldn't find anything specific to this. Thanks in advance!
