What are the top things that helped Bojack glimpse real peace?

Maybe some options are

-hitting hard points (Sarah Lynn, view from halfway down)

-different place that strongly encouraged it (rehab, teaching at the school)

-Consistent friends who understand the depression and past (Diane or Sarah Lynn)

-Consistent friends who blindly accept an move forward (Mr Peanutbutter or Princess Caroline)

-People who believed in him (Ana, Hollyhock, Wanda)

What are others, and which do you think were most helpful for him?

Would Todd feel guilty for Sarah Lynn?

Would Todd feel guilty for Sarah Lynn?

Bojack was in a frantic state after the Oscar fiasco and asked Todd to go on a trip (co-regulation?). It was maybe the first time he reaches out to Todd like this (as frantic as it was). But Todd didn’t recognize the deeper place Bojack was in and gave his great “It’s you” speech. Bojack went more into his shame spiral, called Sarah Lynn (co-dysregulation), leading to her overdose.

Sarah Lynn is responsible for her overdose.

BoJack is responsible for initiating the bender and delaying help.

I wouldn’t say Todd is responsible for anything. He was setting boundaries for himself. But unlike Ana’s boundary, Todd’s was more out of character and added extra blame/shame.

How do you see Todd’s role here? He’s not responsible for Bojack’s/Sarah Lynn’s actions, but listening to Bojack a bit in the moment would have lessened Bojack’s recklessness.

Or maybe Bojack needed that shame to push him lower to shake him awake?
