Broken Clutch?
Hi everyone.
I have a 2007 DRZ 400 sm for about a year now, and it gave me lots of problems.
Seems i still have to understand what's wrong with the electric implant, but that's another story.
I start by saying this is my first bike and i dont know much about mechanics.
One morning i go to the garage and i try to start the bike but didn't start (dead battery or alternator) i was late for work so i start panic and i start try to jumpstart. I was panicking so instead of dumping the clutch in 2nd , i do it in 1st. Nothing, i then give up for the day. Put the battery on charge and i decide to try another day. I know that probably i did some damage while trying to jumpstart in 1st, im an idiot, i know.
With full battery, the bike start but cant move. (When i release the clutch is like the chain is being stucked on something. The chain was actually kinda old and for sure i would have had to replace it. I tried putting on a stand to let the rear wheel spin and try to see what's happened. I don't really know what could be (except maybe pinion or sprocket) and how to explain it. While letting the wheel spin i could clearly see it wasnt spinning smoothly ( in gear obv ). Could it be that something snapped while tryng to jumpstart the thing?
I don't know if its worth fixing it or just selling it for spare parts or if i should just rebuild the engine. Again i know im stupid af, but i would like to see if i can save the bike.
Sorry for the long message guys.
Thx 2 everyone who reads/respond to this
Thanks to everyone.
