Mystery hip-hop song in The Midnight Ghost Train's Cypress Ave.

Sooooo... this is as niche, and unimportant as it gets, but it has been nagging me for 5 years or so; and I guess this community would find it at least mildly amusing, and just mayyybe find some kind of possible answer.

I'm not even a fan of The Midnight Ghost Train, yet here I am. For context: TMGT is a southern rock/hard rock/stoner rock band. Heavy raspy voice, and just archetypical "trucker" kind of stoner (not an insult, as I like other bands with that same vibe, i.e. Shooting Guns). Have a go at their music, and you'll see what a I mean, I promise this is coming of a place of genuine curiosity.

So what's my surprise when listening to their Cypress Ave. record in 2020, that I hear just the most groovy song I've ever laid my ears upon. An inmediate 'Oh fuck, that is so fucking good... What the fuck I'm listening to.' I was flabbergasted, it was on the middle of the freaking album. "The Boogie Down" by The Midnight Ghost Train.

Had to double-check it wasn't a distribution issue. And it's not the case, everywhere, the same song file plays, and drives me further into confusion. Also, it does not seem to be a cover of any other song, blues standard, or jazz standard.

No "feat.", no additional credits, no change in their writing credits... nothing on Bandcamp, Reddit, comments, Facebook. In no other album of theirs, there is a single instance of even something remotely happening like it. My investigation led to nothing.

So as a first time caller, long time listener, I seek your insights. Does anyone had any kind of similar experience hearing this record? Do you know something we don't? The thing is I want to hear more of the people who made one of the most listened songs in my all-time playlist.

After all this years, I've entered resignation, and this may be my last effort to solve this personal mystery. Thank you all r/stonerrock.
