Yet another "Should I get a Clara or Libra" post, with some followup questions.
As the title suggests, I'm looking at picking up a Kobo ereader in the near future. Currently I have a 2018 Kindle Paperwhite, and I want to get out of the Amazon ecosystem. In the past, I briefly had a Kobo Libra 2 (for about 6 months before it was stolen out of my bag), and I really liked it.
I know I'd like the ergonomics of the Libra Colour, but I'm a little unsure about the color screen itself, and also about just how bulky it might get with a case (my previous Libra I used without a case). This brings me to my questions:
- Does the color really make that much a difference? I've looked at a lot of comparisons online, but it's hard to tell for sure until you see it in front of you, and there's nowhere near me that carries Kobos at all (or other color ereaders for that matter).
- Do you feel the need to use a case on your Libra? I use one on my PW and I think I'd want to use it on the Clara too, if only to make it a bit easier to hold. I mostly read at home, but I often take my device with me in the front pocket of my backpack. I'm also worried that a case might make it feel less comfortable in my hand for something as large as the Libra. I do most of my reading in bed, holding the device with one hand.
As of right now, I don't really read manga or graphic novels on an ereader, but I might start if I have a color device with a large enough screen. What do you think? Kobo Clara BW, Clara Colour, or Libra Colour? And which of them need a case?
