Unidentified silver hallmarks on small goblet/Vase. Several marks clearly visible and identifiable yet still stumped.

Small footed goblet/vase with multiple punch marks on the base. I can clearly see a capital “A,” an 8-pointed rosette/star, a worn central mark (possibly a head/profile), and what looks like an animal head in the last punch. There’s also a stamped number “8616.” And below the numbers is a arrow stamp and up at the top above the hall. Marques is a arm, hand and wrist holding what appears to be a torch or possibly a bouquet. Completely baffled leaning maybe towards early continental, but I can’t match the symbols to a known system. Any help identifying the origin, meaning of the marks, or approximate age would be appreciated.

PS when I got it it was literally near black-ish. Obviously it wasn’t pure black, but it was getting darn close. I placed it in a small lukewarm bath of a tiny bit of dish soap, a tiny bit of baking soda and a tiny bit of vinegar and I used a glasses soft wipe to wipe out a little of the darkness from the base after the bath if anyone was wondering why the patina or tarnish looks different with the base.

I can barely tell a coil from a coil of rope…. Help with a Scott #539.

My experience with stamps and philately starts and ends with licking the glue off the back of a bunch of them everything else is a blur.

I have some stamps that might be extremely rare, but also might be worth less than their face value. Hence I am here, pleading for help and begging for a little grace when anyone has the urge to destroy me in the comments if I am wrong.

I’ve researched the different Scott numbers and rarities, cross-checked size differences, and looked at Type I, Type II, and Type III varieties. I’m pretty sure I’ve got more than one that hits all the marks for being rare. Where I’m stuck is the perforation measurements, which I thought would be the simplest part, but it’s confusing the hell out of me.

I’ve used a digital microscope to check the button, all the different ribbon line details, ponytail, hair by the ear, and mouth shape etc…. I think I was pretty thorough, but I’m no expert. If anyone could impart any knowledge and or opinion on, if I have anything here, I would genuinely be more than grateful even if it’s bad news. I thank anyone in advance for taking any time whatsoever to assist. Cheers!
