Sorry if this is not the place for this question since its about old fashioned analog phone jacks. But my parents have Xfinity voice with their landline coming from the Xfinity modem. I want to hook up a cordless phone and a corded phone to this line.

I had issues with using a RJ11 splitter connected to the modem. Xfinity says this will not work and I should hook up to the whole house phone line. Unfortunately the whole house phone line is kind of a mess and so I would like to replicate it for just the two phones I need.

I found a 4 Gauge Distribution box on Amazon. Amazon 4 gauge telephone distribution box. I assume this will fix my issue?

Do I wire the Xfinity modem to the "from telecom port" and then wire the two phones to networks? I think Xfinity's recommended configuration would be interpreted as just hooking up the modem to one of the output ports. They just tell you to hook up the modem to any port in your house to wire up all the ports.

How is this really different from the splitter? Conditioning electronics? It doesn't look powered.

How can I hook up both a cordless phone and corded phone to the XB8? I want the corded phone as a backup for my elderly parents.

Using a telephone cord splitter on the active port of the XB8 seems to cause issues. At first everything works, but as my parents use the landline more - eventually the whole phone system goes down, the port is busy and I can't call in. I had to unhook the splitter to get everything to work again. The corded phone line does go from the splitter through the whole house phone line before getting to the corded phone. Long ago, Xfinity voice used to be hooked up through this whole house phone network. But even hooking up directly to the splitter causes issues without going through the home phone lines.

The 2nd phone port on the XB8 seems to be inactive.

I play games through Moonlight/Artemis on my Android tablet. I would like to map one of the back buttons to send an Alt-R to bring up the Nvidia Performance Overlay. The Nexus app doesn't seem to allow for keyboard commands? Is there another way to do it?
