I have a GATE CS 2026 score of 613 (General Category) and have applied for MTech CSE at IIIT Delhi.

I wanted to know if I realistically have a chance of getting admission in any counselling round based on previous year cutoffs/trends. If anyone has information about past GATE cutoffs for IIITD MTech CSE or knows someone who got in with a similar score, please share.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

First image is shortlisting criteria for full-time MTech CSE
Second image is shortlisting criteria for full-time MTech MInDS

For CFTI applicants, CS Dept. doesn't want GATE, fine, that's what CFTI mode means.

But for MInDS, GATE is still required for CFTI applicants with score > 720. Then, what does even keeping CFTI entry mode means ?? 😂😂😂

PS: IIT Delhi has started CFTI mode of entry from this year onwards only. Earlier, there used to be only two modes – GATE and IIT BTech.

In the syllabus PDF on ScAI's website, they haven't explicitly mentioned the topic "Linear Transformations" under Linear Algebra section.

So, can they ask questions on it or not? If anyone has given that test or knows this, please reply ASAP.

This is u/Ok-Childhood-8052 (BTech @ IIT Delhi). That account is on a 5-day ban right now. Will continue on that account after the ban period is over.

I appeared for the online interview for MTech CSE at IIT Delhi via the IIT BTech category on April 30.

The interview went good imo. They asked a total of 5-6 DSA questions (and some probability questions too), out of which I answered almost all (either completely by myself or by the hints provided by professors) with communication of my thought process as clear as possible. There was one hashing + probability question (which later I realized was too easy) which I couldn't solve in the interview. Barring this, I was confident that it went decently well, and being from the same institute during my undergrad would help.

They shortlisted a total of 34 candidates for the interview, mostly the people were CS graduates from lower IITs and already working professionals. Very few were final year students.

Today (May 4, 2026), they released the final shortlist (9 candidates). My application ID isn't there.

7 of the 9 candidates shortlisted are working professionals (2024, 2025 grads) in good enough companies, one being in Tower Research Capital as well. Rest 2 were final year CS students with ~9 CGPA and placement offers. They're from IIT Dharwad and IIT Bhubaneshwar.

Feeling a bit depressed right now. I think since I was the only one from a non-circuital branch (out of initial 34 candidates), even with a good enough interview, I was not shortlisted.

Comment down your GATE score (if applied via GATE) or CGPA (if applied via IIT BTech / CFTI). I want to get an idea of candidates attempting the test.
