What am I looking at? Eaton fuller autoshift.
I work on medium duty trucks a lot, but every diesel transmission I've messed with was an automatic, not an autoshift. What am I looking at? I was going to look at the clutch wear indicator, but didn't even bother to look at it after I saw the (throw out bearing?) in pieces and smoke rolling out of the inspection cover. I had to wait for the smoke to clear before I could take a picture.
The second picture is of the smoke and debris that was clogging the inspection hole.
What even causes a failure like this?
