Rebuilding an AWD Yokomo DIB. Front right wheel is super noisy. Bad bearing?
Hey everyone, I bought this RC back in 2023. I took a gamble because someone was selling a Yokomo DIB kit for dirt cheap. Turns out it was in pretty rough shape—totally beat up with a lot of missing screws.
It ended up sitting on the shelf from 2024 to 2025 because I moved to a new city and got a new job. Now in 2026, armed with some "adult money", I’m finally rebuilding it. Right now, I'm just going through the chassis and replacing all the missing hardware.
I just noticed that the front right wheel makes a pretty loud noise when spun by hand (see video). At first, I thought the inner rim was rubbing against something, so I swapped to a +6 offset rim, but the loud clicking/rattling is still there. The left side is completely silent.
What should I be checking here? Is this most likely a blown bearing, or maybe something with the CVD? Thanks in advance!
P.S. I'm going to keep the AWD system on this chassis because I plan on running a Mitsubishi Lancer evo body on it.
