AM5 CPU to handle Quad DIMMs w/tweaked timings?

Hello guys!

So I got 128GB of RAM (4 Crucial Pro 32GB 5600CL46) sticks a while back before the market situation peaked (Thank you Steve from Gamers Nexus).

I’m looking to grab a CPU to handle 4 sticks with manual timings without issues. I’m aware DDR5 is more complicated to run with 4 sticks.

The sticks are Micron D-Die so I can tweak the timings a bit to at least 6000MT/s.

What AM5 CPU would be ideal for this? My current parts are: 5070 Ti, Asus X870 Board w/4 RAM slots, 1000W MSI PSU, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE for CPU and 5 Arctic P14 Max for the case, good airflow.

I don’t want water cooling to avoid running into any issues long term.

Should I get a temporary CPU and wait for the next gen or is there a good option nowadays?

I'll use my PC for Gaming / Local LLMs / VMs / Light video editing, so I'm willing to go high end if there’s a huge benefit there that won’t get any better in the near future.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Micron D-Die users. Did BIOS update help with tightening up your timings?

Hey guys. So this is my rig:
Ryzen 5 9600X PBO -30 CO
RTX 5070 Ti
ASUS PRIME X870 board
2x32GB Crucial Pro DDR5 (EXPO is 5200CL42 and 5600CL46) with stable OC currently at 6000CL36 and FCLK 2200
1000w MSI PSU

My current BIOS has AGESA ComboAM5 PI 1.3.0.0a and I saw there’s an update to PI 1.3.0.1.

Were you guys able to get better timings with this update? I’ve seen a lot of people reporting that but I don’t know if micron d-die benefits at all. If it does then i’m willing to update and try to tweak a bit but only if it’s worth it.

Thanks!

hello! i currently want to boot windows and linux. windows on main m.2 and linux on secondary m.2.

i’ve tried to dual boot before in some old laptops but the bootloader is always a mess. i get GRUB i think it’s called or the windows boot loader without linux showing and i can never get proper UI to show.

i saw there are some programs to manage bootloaders but they seem to be really outdated and i couldn’t find a clean way to manage it.

wanted to ask to people dual booting. what’s the method you settled with? is there any go-to utility? or is the easiest way to just swap in BIOS?

thanks in advance!
