launched a chrome extension aronud 2 months ago and somehow crossed 700 weekly users

built this because I kept switching between chatgpt/claude/deepseek while working and moving long conversations between them was honestly painful

copy paste works until the context gets large and then everything becomes messy fast

so I made a small chrome extension that exports/transfers chats cleanly between different AI tools

launched march 3rd and it recently crossed ~700 weekly users / 1000+ installs which has been pretty cool to see

still figuring out growth/distribution tbh so would genuinely love advice from people further ahead

crossed 500 weekly users in ~2 months with a chrome extension I almost didn’t publish

launched this chrome extension on march 3rd mostly as a tool for myself because I kept switching between chatgpt/claude/deepseek and got tired of rebuilding context manually every time

it basically lets you export/transfer AI chats cleanly between different tools instead of relying on messy copy paste

just crossed ~500 weekly users today which honestly feels kinda surreal considering I almost never published it publicly

current stats:

825 installs

~530 weekly users

mostly US + India users so far

biggest thing I’ve learned is distribution is way harder than building the actual extension 😅

most growth so far has been organic + reddit posts

would genuinely love advice on what's more important at this point and what to keep in mind

extension if anyone wants to try it:

idk if it’s just me but every time I try to move a convo from chatgpt to claude or gemini it just falls apart

copy paste works… but not really. formatting breaks, long threads get messy, and you lose half the context anyway

i got annoyed enough that I hacked together a small chrome extension that just exports the whole chat properly so I can reuse it in another AI

been using it for a bit now and it actually makes switching models way less painful, especially for coding stuff

wasn’t really planning to share it but figured I’d drop it here in case it’s useful to someone
