Or maybe I just want confirmation. He's around 3yrs old and has been normal since yesterday. I noticed he didnt eat his food. He has very deep bedding he usually hides in but when I walked past him an hour ago he was barely moving, laying on the top of his bedding in a corner.

He was breathing and has his eyes open, I moved the water bottle to his side of the cage so he'd have easy access and set a small piece of mushy banana next to him (I read mushy food was good and I didnt have eggs to make scrambled eggs).

I gave him a few gentle pets but he didnt seem to like them (he usually loves being handled) so I dimmed the lights and let him alone.

Now he's stopping moving, and read that they can go into hibernation if its cold (its 71 in my room) but also saw that they would respond to touch even if they were in hibernation. There are no signs of breathing either, and he does feel a bit stiff when I went to hold him or see if he wakes up.

I think I know the answer but any info or your take would be appreciated.

I generally find it super performative and inauthentic.

Worse than nails on a chalk board. I don't want to have to lean in to hear you speak, or have someone close-talking me. If I can't hear someone from a couple feet away and I've asked them to repeat themselves more than once I will look for a way to end the conversation becuase holy hell it's annoying.

Are they trying to appear soft/more polite? Maybe even childlike with certain people who almost do a baby voice? Fear of rejection?

Do you do this, if so why? I want to be kind and understanding but I honestly just don't get it and 95% of the time it feels like an active choice they're making. Sometimes people like this will slip and talk in their normal voice for a moment, catch themselves and go back to their tiny voice.

Ofc this peeve crosses over to people who are loud and talk over others constantly, which is equally as annoying.

EDIT: I didn't realize this was such an unpopular opinion lol, guess I posted this in the wrong group
