Question about bit depth and sample rate on playback

Hello,

My music files are only 16-bit / 44.1 kHz because I think they sound good enough. However, my DAC allows me to choose between different bit depths and sample rates on playback.

Assuming I'm using a phone and have no access to ASIO / WASAPI, would you recommend that I stay with the native 16-bit / 44.1 kHz during playback, or is it recommended to upsample or oversample since my DAC is capable of it?

Which style do you prefer for title cases: Chicago Manual of Style or AP Stylebook? [Especially when it comes to prepositions and conjunctions]

Note the capitalization in the following titles:

Chicago Manual of Style AP Stylebook
Money down the Drain "Money Down the Drain"
Half past Midnight "Half Past Midnight"
Someone like You "Someone Like You"
More than Words "More Than Words"
The Cornball Show with Stephen Colbert "The Cornball Show With Stephen Colbert"
Far from Home "Far From Home"
Smash into You "Smash Into You"
Head over Heels "Head Over Heels"
Wishing upon a Star "Wishing Upon a Star"
They're onto You "They're Onto You"

With CMOS, prepositions that are 4 letters or shorter are lowercase, while AP requires any word longer than 3 letters to be uppercase.

Which one looks better to you?

TempoTec Variations V1 may have a new firmware out (v1.2) that took 7.5 months to be released, but gapless playback is still broken. There's a split-second gap at the start of the next song during transitions.

Here are some songs you can use to test it:

  • Collective Soul - "10 Yrs. Later" / "Boast"
  • Matchbox Twenty - "Leave" / "Stop"
  • Marvelous 3 - "This Time" / "Better Off Alone"
  • Beyoncé's Lemonade, Renaissance and Cowboy Carter albums
  • Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor (mixed version)
  • Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon
  • Live albums

Given TempoTec's spotty history, do you think this will ever get fixed? Or will they just release a new V1 model?
