Everything felt broken today :/
I worked pretty much a full shift at SCO today.
My store was closed Easter Sunday.
Sunday is normally when the previous sales end and new sales begin. Thus old labels are taken down and new ones put up.
Well, since the store was closed Sunday and its big box, of course I haven’t the foggiest fuckin’ clue if that’s been taken care of.
Until I walk in today. I had easily 5x the price check calls coming back with “old label, honor price”. It just takes time, but doesn’t bother me.
On top of that though, it seemed like our entire system went a bit nuts. I had trouble scanning bar codes on one of the two ways we have to check prices/availability, etc, probably 40% came back with “item not found” on one or the other. Then, the SCO machines started getting cute. One developed a big lag problem. It would scan the item but have a 3-5 second delay between it and showing the scan…and the two or three others you did waiting for it to respond as well lmao. I managed to get that one running after an hour or so.
But then, another unit blue screened its card reader. That’s down the rest of the day or several days as that’s an internal security override, I came to understand. There was about a 20ish minute overlap between the two being both down at the same time.
The two together made for a bit of a squeeze for a while.
But it really did feel broken today. A lot of things which do occasionally go wrong all seemed to converge today for some reason.
Thank god I have my therapy Subaru lol
