Sporty yet long term car

Looking for a sporty and trustworthy car.

I’ve been thinking about what car to get and I’ve decided that I’m willing to buy an older (newer than 2000) car I can work on and have for the next 10-12 years (god willing) or a newer car that doesn’t break the bank.

If I get a new car, I’d like something under 20k that gets good gas mileage but can go a decent speed. My taste in newer cars is something like a 2020 BRZ or 2024 Toyota Camry TRD but those are expensive and will have high insurance rates.

My issue with older cars is that I’m able to drive manual just fine but absolutely despise it. Older cars are also beat up (if they’ve lasted this long) and often have transmission issues but have lower insurance cost since the worth is so diminished.

Also I know you can’t have affordable, fast, reliable, and cool all in one so please get rid of the fast part if you can’t find cars that fit my criteria.

Best year for camryTRD?

Looking for a new car and I’ve been eyeing the TRD but I want to make sure I pick the right one. Looking for one that balances performance and looks the BEST out of them all.

Okay, I’ve had my 2022 Kawasaki Z125 for a couple years and I’ve gotten comfortable with the manual transmission but I’m a loser and prefer automatic. I’m looking for something a bit faster and an auto/semi-automatic transmission but no more than like 5k… I know that’s kind of a big ask if Im going for speed but I would go for a 2020 or newer as long as it fits my price range and yall can confirm that it’s reliable. I’m not looking to trade or buy from anyone at the moment but I am desperate for recommendations.
