Salary Review Meetings

Hey everyone,

My company did some weird stuff like splitting the yearly review and the salary review with half a year inbetween.

The result is that some do it diligently and according to the timeline laid out by the C-suite and other managers try to avoid these meeting as much as possible.

I'd like to know your experience with these reviews.

Do you get these reviews every year or do you get an increase in salary every year?

Do you really have to push for a review?

Do some managers try to avoid these discussions altogether?

For the managers, why would you want to avoid discussions about salary?

Thanks for your feedback. I'm trying to understand everyone's reasoning as well as make sense of my own situation.
