Best Android phone in 2026? (Coming from Pixel 8 Pro – reliability issues)

Hey all,

Looking for some advice on upgrading my phone and would appreciate some opinions.

I’m currently using a Google Pixel 8 Pro (had it about 2 years), but I’ve had ongoing issues with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and hotspot reliability. At this point it’s become frustrating enough that I’m looking to switch away from Pixel, even though I really like the software and camera.

My usage:

Travel a lot

Heavy Bluetooth use (earbuds, car, etc.)

Frequent hotspot/tethering

Lots of media/music

Don’t game

Don’t need pro-level photography, just solid and reliable

So reliability, connectivity, and battery matter more to me than raw performance.

Phones I’m considering (Ireland pricing):

Poco F8 Ultra (12GB/256GB) – €599 (keep my €20 unlimited plan)

Xiaomi X8 Pro Max – €450

Nothing Phone (3) – €650

Nothing Phone (4a Pro) – €450

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL – €800

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra – €179 upfront + €65/month for 24 months

My thoughts so far:

I like Pixel OS and camera, but I’ve lost trust due to connectivity issues

Nothing OS looks great, but I’m concerned about camera + chipset vs others

Poco F8 Ultra seems like the best value/performance option right now

Samsung S26 Ultra seems like the safest all-rounder, but very expensive over 2 years

What I’m mainly trying to figure out:

Which of these has the most reliable connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hotspot)?

Is Samsung worth the huge price difference vs something like Poco?

Are Nothing phones actually good long-term, or more style over substance?

Has anyone moved from Pixel due to similar issues — what did you switch to?

Any other phones I should consider (e.g. OnePlus, etc.)?

Right now I’m leaning towards the Poco F8 Ultra, but open to being convinced otherwise.

Would really appreciate any real-world experiences or recommendations 🙏
