Can someone explain Skinnygirl? Does anyone actually buy the stuff?
A neighbor recently compared this brand to that old Space Balls bit (Space Balls the lunch box, Space Balls the toilet paper…) Skinnygirl the diet cocktail, the denim, the salad dressing, the shape wear, the preserves, popcorn, sparkling water, the sunglasses, coffee, the protein bars (sure I’m missing a bunch).
The thing is it seems almost all of the products are discontinued shortly after they’re released and I’ve never seen anyone buy the stuff. Almost never see her products in stores either- other than the occasional odd salad dressing at a weird indie grocery store. Plus they appear to have disappeared from home shopping.
Is this a profitable business? The entire thing seems so regressive. The labels look amateurish and the line appears to be targeting adult women yet calls them girls. Bethenny doesn’t even seem to be putting much effort into things. She spends more time promoting other brands these days. Any thoughts? Do people actually buy these things? Is the line done?
Looks like B has shifted to offering merch like chicken salad, caviar and nepobaby swag on her homepage.
