Need handicap/buff ideas for a roll table I'm working on
So my players are going to be using an old Institute teleportation device that has been shoddily repaired. I want to make them roll when using it to see if they come out with any abnormalities (then roll on the table). I have categories for 3+ successes, 2 successes, 1 success, no successes, and crit fail. The best rolls being abnormalities that actually give a buff, but with a weird visual feature (a fly was trapped in there while they were using it and now they have the ability to perceive faster, and climb up walls to a certain height, but they have fuzz on their hands and antennae on their head.), the crit fails being a major disadvantage that they will need to seek options to fix (missing a limb- I'll offer a way for them to get a robotic limb later, etc.), then in the middle mild inconveniences (is convinced they can speak dog, randomly sees or hears something that isn't there, bald patches, missing finger or fingernail, hair is now curly instead of straight). Then of course there will be rolls where nothing at all happens and everything is fine.
So, any and all ideas are appreciated!
