Help! NC Beginner Moto Mom
My 12 almost 13yr old has been riding over 2yr but just on bike trails and our land. And recently switch from 110 2 stroke to 150 4.
He wanted to potentially try moto racing. I have driven over 1.5hr to first watch a race, then 2 separate track practices…we were told just get out there and do it! So we had his first race yesterday. Needless to say I HAVE NO FN CLUE ABOUT ANY OF THIS!! I signed him up for 85cc class. He rides a 150cc. I was asked if he can jump…I was like yes….? So not beginner….As soon as the race started we could tell we messed up. Clearly he is a beginner. He was a whole lap behind everyone and they even stopped it at his 3rd lap of 4.
When you are asked can he jump-does that mean like clear an entire mound to another…? They said if he jumped in the beginners class he would be disqualified.
If he was signed up as not a beginner at one track in a certain series….are we allowed to sign him up as a beginner at a different track/series? He shouldn’t be penalized because I don’t know what I’m doing.
