I'm a producer/developer building a DMCA-safe streaming home for 100% original, unregistered DnB sets. Need your brutal feedback.
Hey everyone,
Long-time DnB head, producer, and web developer here. I need to vent, and I need your help.
Like a lot of you, I’ve been watching the absolute state of live streaming for electronic artists. You spend hours crafting an original set, boot up Twitch or TikTok Live, drop your unreleased IDs and dubplates, and what happens? The automated bots nuke the VOD, mute the audio, or slap you with a strike.
The most infuriating part? It happens to producers playing their own music. You run your track through a distributor like DistroKid to get on Spotify, it gets registered in the Content ID databases, and the bots flag your own Twitch VOD as copyright infringement. It’s killing the culture of road-testing new music.
I got sick of complaining about it, so I decided to build something.
I founded Soundswoop, a streaming platform built exclusively for producer-DJs who play 100% original, unregistered repertoire. No label middlemen, no bootlegs, just your own creations.
Because we only host music that isn't registered with distributors or PROs, the bots have zero fingerprints to match. That means:
- Zero DMCA anxiety: Your streams and VODs never get muted or struck.
- You keep 100% of your masters: No rights grabs. We just want to platform the creators.
- Cross-Platform Growth: We integrate with Twitch, TikTok Live, and YouTube (pre-recorded). But because we help you generate 100% copyright-clear VODs, you can safely push those sets to YouTube to build watch hours without fearing channel strikes.
- Tech-focused: I'm using my dev background to build custom tools to help DJs automatically repurpose their live sets into TikToks/Shorts so they can actually grow their audience without spending 5 hours editing VODs.
We are just getting this off the ground. I'm not here to drop a link and run, I'm here because I want to build this for the scene, with the scene.
So, I need your brutally honest feedback:
- What is your biggest frustration with streaming your sets right now?
- If a platform like this existed, what specific tech/features would actually make you want to use it?
- Am I completely insane for trying to build a walled garden for 100% original, unregistered DnB?
Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack, how we keep the bots away, or just talk breaks and bass design. Let me know what you think.
