I'm a producer/developer building a DMCA-safe streaming home for 100% original, unregistered DnB sets. Need your brutal feedback.

Hey everyone,

Long-time DnB head, producer, and web developer here. I need to vent, and I need your help.

Like a lot of you, I’ve been watching the absolute state of live streaming for electronic artists. You spend hours crafting an original set, boot up Twitch or TikTok Live, drop your unreleased IDs and dubplates, and what happens? The automated bots nuke the VOD, mute the audio, or slap you with a strike.

The most infuriating part? It happens to producers playing their own music. You run your track through a distributor like DistroKid to get on Spotify, it gets registered in the Content ID databases, and the bots flag your own Twitch VOD as copyright infringement. It’s killing the culture of road-testing new music.

I got sick of complaining about it, so I decided to build something.

I founded Soundswoop, a streaming platform built exclusively for producer-DJs who play 100% original, unregistered repertoire. No label middlemen, no bootlegs, just your own creations.

Because we only host music that isn't registered with distributors or PROs, the bots have zero fingerprints to match. That means:

  • Zero DMCA anxiety: Your streams and VODs never get muted or struck.
  • You keep 100% of your masters: No rights grabs. We just want to platform the creators.
  • Cross-Platform Growth: We integrate with Twitch, TikTok Live, and YouTube (pre-recorded). But because we help you generate 100% copyright-clear VODs, you can safely push those sets to YouTube to build watch hours without fearing channel strikes.
  • Tech-focused: I'm using my dev background to build custom tools to help DJs automatically repurpose their live sets into TikToks/Shorts so they can actually grow their audience without spending 5 hours editing VODs.

We are just getting this off the ground. I'm not here to drop a link and run, I'm here because I want to build this for the scene, with the scene.

So, I need your brutally honest feedback:

  1. What is your biggest frustration with streaming your sets right now?
  2. If a platform like this existed, what specific tech/features would actually make you want to use it?
  3. Am I completely insane for trying to build a walled garden for 100% original, unregistered DnB?

Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack, how we keep the bots away, or just talk breaks and bass design. Let me know what you think.

Peace 🎹🔊

Just calculated my actual profit on a £45 sale. It’s depressing.

Sold an item for £45. Felt good.

Then I actually sat down and did the math:

  • eBay final value fee: £6.12
  • Payment processing: £1.61
  • Shipping (what I charged vs. what it actually cost): £4.20
  • Packaging: £1.10

Net profit: £18.97. That’s before factoring in the time to photograph, list, pack, and drive to the post office.

I’ve been running my store for 8 months and I genuinely think I’ve been losing money on items I thought were “decent flips.mAnyone else only recently realize how brutal the margin actually is?

I kept running into the same problem with crypto tools, everything was either overcomplicated, required wallet connections, or tried to do too much.

Sometimes you just want quick numbers.

So I built a simple toolkit that covers the basics:

  • 📈 Profit / Loss calculator
  • 💰 DCA (average price) calculator
  • 🌾 Staking rewards (with compounding)
  • ⛏️ Mining profitability
  • 🧾 Tax estimator (basic, not filing-level)
  • 📊 Portfolio tracking
  • 🔄 Crypto converter
  • ✉️ Token price + basic risk view

No signup, no wallet connect, just input your numbers and get a result.

It’s all pretty lightweight and meant for quick checks rather than full tracking or tax reporting.

Would be interested in feedback, especially if there’s anything missing or confusing.

Made this after getting confused trying to estimate tax on trades last year.

Supports:
• UK CGT (£3k allowance, 18% / 24%)
• US / EU / Australia formats
• Basic profit/loss + tax estimates

Takes ~10 seconds for a rough figure.

Not tax advice, just a quick estimation tool before you do proper reporting.

I couldn't find a simple tool that just did the maths

for crypto CGT without making me sign up or connect a

wallet. So I built one.

You enter your buy price, sell price and quantity.

It applies the £3,000 annual exempt amount and gives

you basic rate (18%) or higher rate (24%) estimates

It also covers US, Australia and EU if anyone needs

those.

Obviously this is an estimate and not tax advice

it says so clearly on the page. For actual filing

you'd still need a proper accountant or tax software.

Happy to take feedback, still early days.
