I've discovered you can get into preloader mode by powering off the device, then holding both volume buttons and plugging in USB.

mtkclient does successfully detect my device, but doesn't fully connect.

BROM mode is inaccessible from the latest a12 update, so I can't easily unlock the bootloader, even with mtkclient. I've also tried:

• Using SP flash to flash a11 firmware to allow for BROM mode (I will try with mtkclient, but unsure exactly how to flash with it)
• Install deeptesting app
• This method might work if I can get the device to properly connect to mtkclient

Once the bootloader is unlocked, it should be possible to install a custom recovery (e.g. Orangefox). I couldn't find a ROM custom to the RMX2111, so I will have to install a custom ROM.
