Looking to get two new rods HELLCAT REVENGE to be exact.

Fishing for mainly for catfish. Targeting the larger ones 20lbs plus

I already have one hellcat revenge rod, medium heavy, but I feel like it has too much bend to it just with the 5oz sinker and cut bait, compared to my Okuma custom cat slayer medium heavy. I usually use at a minimum of 5 ounce as a sinker and large cut bait.

Just wondering if going up to heavy will be a better option, but also don’t wanna lose the fun in the fight.

And to see what the other people use and recommend

Does anyone have a BAIT person or know where I can purchase gizzard shad from?

Need to re-spool 3 of my reels. Casting rods with Penn squall II size 20.

I only fish from the bank in rivers with heavy current and lot of rocks.

Braid doesn’t seem to last for me gets frayed and starts breaking off to easy. I have 65lb test reaction tackle.

Thinking of going up to 80lb test

Or

Switching entirely to 30-40lb test Berkley big game mono or Ande monster serious

Just concerned with casting distance with the mono.

Any opinions?
